Create & switch views

A view is a saved presentation of a lens — which columns are visible, their order and width, what’s sorted, what’s grouped, which formatting rules apply. A single lens can have many views, so the same data can be shown as an exec summary, a team standup, or a delivery checklist, all from one click.

Views are saved on the lens itself, so they’re shared with anyone the lens is shared with.

  1. In the toolbar, click the Views dropdown.
  2. Pick a view from the list.
  3. The grid re-renders with that view’s columns, sort, and formatting.

The current view’s name appears in the toolbar button so you always know which one you’re in.

  1. Start from any existing view and tweak the grid: add columns, change sort, tweak formatting.
  2. Click Views and pick Save as new….
  3. Enter a name (for example, “Exec summary”) and confirm.

The new view becomes the active view. Everyone who can see the lens can now switch to it.

After changing columns or layout in the active view:

  1. Click Views.
  2. Pick Save current view.

Your changes overwrite the active view. There’s no undo once saved, so use Save as new… if you’re unsure.

  1. Open the Views dropdown.
  2. Hover the view you want to rename and click the pencil icon.
  3. Enter the new name and confirm.

The default view opens automatically when someone loads the lens for the first time.

  1. Open the Views dropdown.
  2. Hover the view and click the star icon.
  3. The star stays lit next to the view name.

Only lens owners and editors can change the default.

  1. Open the Views dropdown.
  2. Hover the view and click the × icon.
  3. Confirm in the dialog.

You can’t delete the default view directly — set a different view as default first.
