Open & switch lenses

Foundation keeps every lens one click away. Use Foundation Home to browse, and the lens menu to switch between recent lenses without returning home.

  1. Click Foundation in the Jira left navigation. You’ll land on Foundation Home.
  2. Search by typing in the search box on the left, or scroll the list.
  3. Click a lens card. The right-hand preview pane shows its stats, recent activity, and owner.
  4. Click the preview pane’s Open action, or click the lens card title, to open the lens.

When you’re already in a lens and want to jump to another one:

  1. Click the lens name in the top-left of the toolbar to open the lens menu sidebar.
  2. Search or scroll the list.
  3. Click a lens to switch. Foundation navigates to the new lens and remembers your place.

Because Foundation keeps a short history of recently viewed lenses in your browser, the menu surfaces those at the top.

Foundation supports standard web navigation conventions so you can compare lenses side by side.

  • Cmd+Click (macOS) or Ctrl+Click (Windows / Linux) on a lens card or lens menu entry opens the lens in a new browser tab.
  • Middle-click also opens in a new tab.
  • Plain left-click navigates in the current tab.

Each lens has a friendly URL that includes its name, for example:

/lens/q2-product-roadmap-a1b2c3d4

If you rename a lens, the old URL continues to work — Foundation redirects it to the new slug. You can safely paste lens URLs into Slack, email, or Confluence.

  • Check sharing. You only see lenses you own or that have been shared with you. Ask the owner to add you via Share a lens.
  • Check Foundation Home search. Search covers names and descriptions. Partial matches work.
  • Check permissions. If you lost access recently, the lens may no longer appear in your list.
