Install Foundation
Install Foundation once per Jira site. After install, every Jira user on the site can open Foundation from the left navigation, though they’ll only see lenses they own or have been shared with.
You must be a Jira site administrator to install apps.
- Sign in to your Jira Cloud site as a site admin.
- Open the gear icon in the top-right and choose Apps > Explore more apps. This opens the in-product Atlassian Marketplace.
- Search for Foundation and click the listing published by the Foundation team.
- Click Get it now (or Try it free during the free trial window).
- Accept the permission prompts. Foundation requests read and write access to Jira issues, projects, users, and app storage — the scopes it needs to fetch issues, update fields, and keep its cache fresh.
- Wait for the install to complete. You’ll see a confirmation banner in Jira.
- Click Get started on the confirmation banner, or open any Jira project and click Foundation in the left sidebar.
The first time you open Foundation you’ll land on the welcome screen. From there you can take the guided tour or jump straight to creating a lens.
