Rename, duplicate, delete
Every lens has a kebab (three-dot) menu with housekeeping actions. You need at least control permission on a lens to rename or delete it. Owners can do everything.
Rename a lens
Section titled “Rename a lens”- Open Foundation Home and find the lens, or open the lens itself.
- From Foundation Home: hover the lens card and click the ⋯ menu, then choose Rename. From inside a lens: click the lens name in the toolbar, then choose Rename from the lens menu.
- Edit the name in the dialog and click Save.
The URL updates automatically, but the old URL keeps redirecting so existing links won’t break.
Duplicate a lens
Section titled “Duplicate a lens”Duplicating is the fastest way to spin up a new lens with the same structure as an existing one — great for quarterly rollovers or team-specific variants of a program view.
- Open the lens’s ⋯ menu (from Foundation Home or the lens toolbar).
- Choose Duplicate.
- Enter a name for the copy and click Duplicate.
Foundation copies:
- The hierarchy (all issue rows and Flex Items in the same order).
- All views, with their columns, sorts, and formatting rules.
- Sync Agents (they’ll re-run against Jira on first open of the copy).
Foundation does not copy:
- Permissions. You become the owner of the copy; re-share it as needed.
- Jira issues themselves — issues are referenced, not cloned.
Delete a lens
Section titled “Delete a lens”Deleting a lens removes its hierarchy, views, Sync Agents, and permissions from Foundation. The Jira issues referenced in the lens are not touched.
- Open the lens’s ⋯ menu.
- Choose Delete.
- Read the confirmation dialog carefully. Deletion is permanent.
- Type the lens name to confirm (or click Delete if your site doesn’t require typed confirmation).
Transfer ownership instead
Section titled “Transfer ownership instead”If you’re leaving a team, don’t delete the lens — transfer it. Open the Share dialog, then use Transfer ownership to hand off the lens to another user. See Share a lens.
