Quick groups

Quick Groups re-slice a lens by a single field, producing group header rows that roll up the issues beneath them. Use them for status reviews (“all blockers together”), workload checks (“work per assignee”), or sprint planning (“what is in this sprint”) without permanently changing the lens structure.

Quick Groups are temporary and user-local. Your colleagues still see the lens in its original shape.

  1. Open the lens you want to regroup.
  2. Click the Sort & Group button in the toolbar.
  3. Pick Create New Preset, give it a name, and choose a field under Group by — for example, Assignee, Status, Project, Priority, or Sprint.
  4. Leave Sort by blank if you only want to group. Click Create.
  5. The grid reshuffles: every issue is filed under a group header like Assignee: Jane Smith with its own row count.

You can also click any preset you have saved before to reapply it instantly.

  • A header row appears for each distinct value of the chosen field. Rows with no value are collected under (empty).
  • Headers roll up dates and progress from their children, so you can see aggregate start/due ranges at a glance.
  • Click the chevron on a header to collapse or expand the group.

To group by more than one field (for example, first by Status, then by Assignee inside each status), open the Pipeline Studio and add multiple Group operations. The Pipeline Studio is the full-power home for grouping; Quick Groups is the one-click shortcut for the most common case.

  • Click Sort & Group and choose Clear.
  • Or open a saved preset that has no group field to swap back.
  • Drag-and-drop is disabled inside a Quick Group. Clear the group before reordering rows.
  • Quick Groups are per-user. Switching users or reloading does not persist them. If you need a group everyone sees, create a Group Sync Agent.
  • Combine Quick Groups with Quick Filters for common views like “My blockers grouped by project”.
