Inspector panel

The Inspector is a collapsible panel on the right side of every lens. It groups the controls you reach for most — filters, columns, sorting, display, formatting, timeline, data, and export — into accordion sections so they’re always one click away.

Use it as your always-on cockpit without cluttering the toolbar.

  • Click the chevron on the panel’s left edge to expand or collapse.
  • Press [ to toggle it from the keyboard.
  • When collapsed, the panel becomes an icon strip — one button per section. Click any icon to jump straight to that section with the panel already open.

The panel is 320px wide, or 280px in compact density.

Each section is an accordion that remembers its open/closed state per lens:

  • Filters — quick filters and pipeline filters (jump with 1).
  • View — the active view and saved view list (jump with 2).
  • Columns — show, hide, and reorder columns (jump with 3).
  • Sort — sort rules with direction toggles (jump with 4).
  • Display — density, row zoom, tree controls (jump with 5).
  • Formatting — conditional formatting rule builder (jump with 6).
  • Timeline — Gantt zoom, baseline selection, critical path toggle (jump with 7).
  • Data — selection stats, cache freshness, sync status (jump with 8).
  • Export — CSV, Markdown, PNG export buttons (jump with 9).
  • Expand all / Collapse all — the icons at the top of the panel open or close every section at once.
  • Jumping to a section with a number key also expands that section if it was collapsed.
  • The panel remembers per-lens state: if you always keep Formatting open in your Q2 Roadmap lens, it stays that way next time you open that lens.
  • Wide panel mode — available in some sections like Formatting — doubles the panel width so you can read a long rule without clipping.
  • Toolbar — everyday actions you take several times a minute: add, refresh, select view, search.
  • Inspector — settings and state you check a few times a session: sort rules, formatting rules, export, timeline settings.

Treat the toolbar as “what am I doing right now” and the Inspector as “how is this lens configured”.
