Open the Gantt

The Gantt pairs your lens’s hierarchy with a calendar timeline. Use it when dates matter — planning a quarter, sequencing dependencies, or sharing a roadmap with stakeholders who read left-to-right better than top-to-bottom.

Every lens supports the Gantt. No extra install or configuration is required.

Open the Gantt view

Open the lens you want to see as a timeline.
Click the Timeline button in the toolbar, or switch to a view that has the Gantt enabled.
The grid stays on the left; a timeline panel appears on the right.
Rows in the grid align row-for-row with bars in the timeline. Scroll either side vertically and the other follows.

What you see

Task bars — each leaf issue with both a start and due date renders as a colored bar.
Group bars — parent rows aggregate their children into a translucent bar spanning the earliest start to the latest end.
Milestones — zero-duration events appear as diamond markers on a single date.
Today line — an orange vertical line marks today’s date.
Dependency arrows — if issues are linked, arrows connect predecessor bars to successor bars.

Rows without both dates simply show no bar; nothing is hidden.

Give your issues dates

For an issue to appear as a bar, it needs both a start date and a due date (or in Jira terms: Start date and Due date). You can add them two ways:

In the grid — inline-edit the Start Date and Due Date columns.
On the timeline — drag empty space below the today line to draw a bar, then adjust its edges.

As soon as both dates are set, the bar appears on the next render.

Configure how bars look

Open the Inspector panel on the right side of the Gantt and find the Bar Style accordion to configure:

Headline — the main text inside the bar (Summary, Issue Key, Status, Priority, Assignee).
Subhead — the secondary text below the headline (typically a date range).
In-bar assignee — show an avatar, initials, or nothing.
Bar icon — show an issue type, priority, status, or assignee icon in the gutter.

Bar style settings are saved per view, so you can have different bar styling in a “Delivery” view than in a “Planning” view.

Leave the timeline

Click the Timeline button again to collapse back to grid-only.
Or switch to any view that has the timeline disabled.
